Locator Manager

 

Use the Locator Manager to enter the data that will be found on the Dealer Locator page
(www.yoursite.com/secondary/locator/dealer) and the Salesrep Locator page (www.yoursite.com/secondary/locator/salesrep).  These pages are automatically created by the WebAlliance system when you create them through the Locator Manager.  Those pages allow website users to search for the closest Dealer or Salesrep to their location.

Creating a Dealer or Salesrep Locator Page

  1. Click the "Add new record" button.
  2. The Page Title will appear on the browser tab for the page you are creating.
  3. Page Headline will appear at the top of the page you added.
  4. Locator Type will be either "dealer" or "salesrep".  You can create one of each of those pages from the Locator Admin.
  5. The Marketing Info box won't automatically display on the page, but if you are interested in using it to attach some additional text to the top of the Locator page, please contact us.

Adding a Dealer or Salesrep

Once you have created a page, you can add the details for your Dealers and/or Salesreps. Click the "Add new record" field under the appropriate page.  Use the "Locator Type" value to ensure you're adding records to the correct page.

  1. Fill out the details you want to see listed for the Dealer or Salesrep.  The system uses the address information to drive the Search function on the Locator page, so accurate address information is important.
  2. The fields starting with "Custom Field 1 Label" through "Custom Field 5 Value" are set aside for additional information you might want to display.  They won't automatically display on the pages, but you can contact us if you would like to incorporate these.
  3. Like the custom fields, Marketing Info will also not be automatically displayed, but let us know if you would like to use this field to display some additional information for a Dealer or a Salesrep.

Once a Dealer or Salesrep record has been added, you can view the information on their corresponding pages.

Dealer: www.yoursite.com/secondary/locator/dealer

Salesrep: www.yoursite.com/secondary/locator/salesrep

Importing Dealer or Salesreps Details

If you need to add a large number of Dealer or Salesreps, you can enter all of their details into an Excel sheet and import them all at once.

  1. Click the "Download Template" button to get an empty template.
  2. Once you have entered all of the Dealer or Salesrep details into the Excel sheet, click the "Select files..." button and select your Excel sheet.
  3. Once you have selected the file you want to import, click the "Import from Excel" button.  This will not overwrite the existing records in the system, and will not prevent you from importing duplicates.

Once the import is complete, you can view the information that correlates to your records by visiting the following pages.

Dealer: www.yoursite.com/secondary/locator/dealer

Salesrep: www.yoursite.com/secondary/locator/salesrep

Note: importing an Excel sheet will add the rows to the existing list of Dealers/Salesreps. Be careful not to enter duplicates.

Editing and Deleting Locator Data

  1. Edit the details of the Locator page.
  2. Delete the Locator page.  This will delete all of the Dealer and Salesrep details you have entered for that page as well.
  3. "Export to Excel" will export all of the Dealer or Salesrep details for the Locator page you are viewing.
  4. Edit the details of an individual Dealer or Salesrep.
  5. Delete an individual Dealer or Salesrep from a Locator page.
