Search Preferences
Because your data is unique, you can enable or disable the ability of the site to search several fields related to your items, and set the search result priority of each enabled field. From the Admin panel, select Site Manager>Search Preferences.
You must be a SuperAdmin or an Admin with the Settings Area role to access this feature.

Any changes made to the settings on this page will directly and immediately affect your site's search engine. Check the "I Understand..." box to proceed and make changes.
Choose Which Fields are Enabled and Set Field Priority
After you've checked the box recognizing the risks, each field will become accessible. If you make a change and don't like the site's response, you can always click the "Reset" button (highlighted above) to revert to the site's default search settings.
- Fields to Search - lists the name of each searchable field. If the box next to the field name is checked, the field will be included in the search engine.
- Importance - set the importance of each field in the search engine. There is a set number of points you can apply overall, and a box at the bottom of the screen will help you keep within that range. You can use the sliders to make changes or enter the number directly into the box at the right.
- More Info - shows more info about each field available to the search engine.
When you're finished, click "Save" at the top. The changes will take effect on the website immediately.
Order Templates and Favorites
Searches in WebAlliance are designed to provide useful results tailored to the individual user that is searching. To assist in that goal, by default, WebAlliance will use Favorites Lists and Order Templates associated with a user when determining the order of items listed on a search result or category page.
By adding the items to one of those two places, the user is letting you know they are important items to them and WebAlliance will use that to help improve their search results.
You can adjust these settings from the Search Preferences area. They are named:
- Customer Order Templates
- Users Favorites
Unchecking the box will remove them as a factor, and adjusting the slider will determine how important they will be in determining the order of the items on the results pages.
