SKU Detail Export
The WebAlliance system can use the item data from your SKU detail listings to create customized PDF files for users to download. You can activate this feature on your website by creating and uploading a template representing your desired PDF layout. From the Admin panel, select Site Manager>Sku Detail Export to configure the downloadable item data.
You must be a SuperAdmin or an Admin with the Content Area role to access the SKU Detail Export admin.
The first step in activating the SKU Detail Export feature is to download the Default Template.
Download the default template
This will download a copy of the default Excel template file for you to edit.
This does not provide any template you've already created and uploaded. This is the system default.
Edit the template
You are then free to edit the Excel file to create just the look you want to see in the PDF download. You can make it look like your SKU detail page on the website, or customize it to contain what you think your users would want to see on an exported offline PDF version of the item listing.
NOTE: This template does not have any effect on your website's item listings. It only determines the layout of the exported PDF.
- Text inside brackets are fields where item data will be filled out by the system, such as the item headline, item number, brand, web description, etc. You can even include the user's Salesperson Contact Information (which is set on the user's User Detail page). Changing the text inside the brackets of these fields will prevent the PDF from loading correctly. The default template contains all of the fields that are available for this page, but you are welcome to remove the fields from the template that you don't want to see on the PDF file. If there's a field you want to use that you don't see in the default template, feel free to contact Aldrich Web Solutions, and we'll see if we can make it available in the template.
- Put your logo here. Make sure to use images with reasonable file sizes for the logo and item images. You want them to load quickly for the user.
- If the item has an image on the site, the system will use that image when it generates the PDF file. If the item doesn't have an image on the site, you can place a placeholder image here for the system to use for the PDF export. See the next step for further details about updating this item image default.
- Pricing data is displayed here.
- Item specifications from Attribute Manager will be listed here.
You're free to move data around, change the wording of the labels, delete things you don't want to see on the PDF file, etc. You can also insert, remove, and adjust the sizes on columns and rows to make the page format the way you want. Just be sure not to change the values in the <#PrintArea.xxxxxxxxxx> <#Row Height(AutoFit)> <#ItemSpec.Spec> or <#Column Width(autofit)> sections, as these tell the website how to include and format the item information.
Note on using HTML: The system will render basic HTML such as text formatting tags, etc., but the use of more advanced HTML tags could cause unexpected layout issues. If you use HTML in your user defined fields, like Web_Desc, and the exported PDF doesn't look right, please contact Aldrich Web Solutions for support.
NOTE: Item Weight is available on this template by entering exactly this under the "Product Info" section : <#PrintArea.Weight>
Another Note: You can now include a QR code that links to the Item Detail page of the SKU that's been exported. For help in setting that up, contact Aldrich Web Solutions.
Once you have the template looking just the way you want, you'll need to upload it to the system to activate the feature.
Updating the item image default

If you'd prefer a different item image default than the standard, grayscale image placeholder you can update it by right-clicking the placeholder, selecting "Change Picture" then "From a File". Select the desired replacement image (.jpg or .png) and apply it.
If you were to simply paste the replacement image to the template, that replacement image would appear on every exported SKU detail - even the items that have images attached. Using the above method, you'll see the website's known item image for items where it's available and if it isn't available, you'll see your item image default from this template.
Upload the template
- Click the "Choose File" button and find the template you edited.
- Click the "Upload and Activate" button.
Export to PDF link
After uploading and activating your template, the SKU detail page for each item will now display an option to "Export to PDF"
After you've uploaded the template the first time
- If at any time after you upload a template, you don't want the PDF export link to be available from the item details page, simply click the Deactivate button. This will delete the existing template, so if you think you will want to use the template again, make sure to keep a copy of it.
- You can use the Get Current Template button to get a copy of the template that's currently being used to generate the PDF files.
