Search Sort Configuration

Search Sort Configuration lets you enable several options to allow users to sort items in a SKU listing collection, like categories and search results.  From the Admin panel select Site Manager>Search Sort Config.

Configuring Search Sort

  1. Activate and Deactivate the Search Sort configuration.
  2. Reference Price Sort gives you the ability to let users sort search results by the price in one of your static price fields.  You can enter a label to display to users, and select the price field that you want to sort by. Note:  You can choose any of the static price fields (1-10) to represent the Reference Price.  If your site displays an alternate price on your item listings, you can use that same price as your sortable value.
  3. Brand Sort will allow users to sort search results by the "BrandOrSupplier" field.  The "BrandOrSupplier" field is a field that gets populated with the "BrandName" user defined field, or the supplier name if the there is no BrandName value.
  4. Select "Item Code" to allow users to sort the search results by item code.
  5. Make sure to save your changes to display the "Sort By:" on the site.

Sorting Search Results

Once you have configured search sorting, users will see a "Sort By:" option at the top of pages that contain SKU listing collections (like search results and category pages).  "Best Match" will sort the items in the order the system determines, based on many factors including popularity with the user who is performing the search, popularity with all users, whether the item is in stock, your Search Preferences settings, etc.  Sorting options you selected from the Search Sort Configuration Admin tool will also be available in the drop-down menu.

Remember, the sortable price is not the calculated Customer ID-based price. It's the "reference" price you configured in the Search Sort Configuration Admin tool.
