Customer Resources
The Customer Resources Module gives you the ability to lock down documents such as data sheets, parts lists, pricing sheets, etc. to certain Customer IDs or even certain users, preventing anyone else from being able to access them. For instance, you might have pricing sheets that you only want certain groups of customers to be able to see or parts lists that you only want users who are logged in to see. The Customer Resources module is the best method to handle these types of situations.
You must be a SuperAdmin or an Admin with the Content Area role to access the Customer Resources admin page. The SuperAdmin or Admin can assign resources to any customer.
Select Customer Resources from Admin > Additional Modules
Resource Groups

Resource Groups are the core of how the Customer Resources module works. They are used to group documents together that you can then allow or prevent access to for particular users/customers.
- To add a new group, just click "Add Group" and provide a Name and Description for your group.
- If you select a Resource Group name from the list, you can also add an image for that group by dragging and dropping a file in the image area. This image will appear on the top of the Resource Group's page on the site.
- To remove a Resource Group, select a group name, and click "Remove Group".
Adding Sub Groups and Resource Items

Once you have Resource Groups in place, you can start adding Sub Groups and then adding documents to those Sub Groups. Sub Groups allow you to break down the documents assigned to a particular Resource Group into smaller pieces so that you can sort your documents by what type of resource it is, or any other way you want.
- To add a Sub Group, just click the "+ New" button and provide a name.
- You can edit the names of Sub Groups at any time by selecting the tab for the Sub Group you want to edit and then click the "Edit Sub Group" button.
- To delete a Sub Group, select the tab for the Sub Group you want to delete and then click the "Delete Sub Group" button.
- You can change the display name of the resource, or the document the resource is pointing to by clicking the checkbox next to the resource to open the resource editing panel.
- It's easy to add documents to your Sub Groups. You can use the drag and drop area to add documents (you can add multiple documents at a time using this method) or use the "Add Resource" button to select a single document from your computer. The types of files that are accepted are .pdf, .xls(x), .doc(x), .zip, .txt, .dwg, .dxf, .gif, .png, .jpg, .ppt, and .rtf. Files can't be larger than 15MB in size.
- You can remove documents from a Sub Group by clicking the trashcan next to the documents you want to remove. Then click the "OK" button that pops up in response.
Resource Group Permissions
Adding Users

You will use Resource Group Permissions to determine which users will have access to the documents in a Resource Group.
The Allow All Logged In Users and Allow All Anonymous Users checkboxes will grant blanket permissions for a Customer Resources Group.
- The "Allowed Users" list will display users and user groups that have been allowed access to a given Customer Resources Group. They will be assigned a label to denote a User or User Group.
- To grant a user access to a Customer Resource Group, click the green "Add" button shown above. You will be instructed to add a Customer Code, an individual username, or a User Group.
- The "Add Multiple" option allows you to add multiple users, Customer Codes, or User Groups at once using a line-separated list.
- The "Add User Groups" option allows you to leverage the User Groups you have already created when granting users permissions.
Excluding Users

If you choose to "Allow All Logged in Users" and\or "Allow All Anonymous Users", the Add Users tools will change their functionality so that they now serve as a way to exclude individual users, Customer Codes, or User Groups from accessing a customer resource. This is especially useful if the number of users you want to have access to the resource exceeds the number of users you wish to exclude.
Accessing Customer Resources
Once the above steps have been completed, users will be able to access resources at www.yourDomain.com/customerresources/index. They will also have a link to Customer Resources on their My Account page. They will only see the Resource Groups they have the permissions to access.
