Site Calls to Action

Use this tool to display a call to action to all users across the site, or just a certain group of users. The message can display on the pages you designate, and can give each user the option to "Close" or "Do not show again".

You must be a SuperAdmin or an Admin with the Content Area role to create\edit\delete site popup messages.

Select Site Calls to Action from Admin > Content > Site Calls to Action

It's best NOT to create more than one call to action for the same page or pages, unless they are not set to show during the same times.  This will prevent messages from stacking on top of each other. Your site is limited to a total of 20 calls to action.

Creating a Call to Action

  1. New CTA:  Click to add a new call to action.
  2. Title:  Enter a title for the message.  The title will show at the top of the message.
Start Date and End Date:  Enter the dates between which you want the message to be displayed on the site.
  3. Enter the message you want users to see.  You have several text formatting tools available to make the text of the message look just the way you want.  To access HTML for the message, click the </> icon.
  4. Save your changes to implement the call to action.
  1. For more options click:  "Advanced Options (display rules)".
  2. Url:  Enter the URL of the page that you want the message to appear on.  You can use an asterisk(*) as a wild card.
  3. This determines how long, in seconds, it will be before the message appears after the user visits an applicable page.
  4. This lets you configure Targeted Users.  "Targeted Users" determines who is allowed to see the Call to Action.
  5. You can set Call to Action Type to either a popup message or a message that slides down from the top of the screen.
  6. If you chose the 'Popup' Call to Action Type, you can determine how large you want the popup message to be on the user's screen. However, if you chose the 'SlideDown' Call to Action, you can choose whether the users can close or permanently close the Call to Action.

Different Options for the URL Field:

  • *  -  Will display the Call to Action on all pages on the website.
  • /  -  Will display the Call to Action on ONLY the Homepage.
  • /myaccount/*  -  Will display the Call to Action on all 'MyAccount' pages.
  • You can even copy the URL from a specific item detail page, allowing you to create a message that is specific to a particular item.

Advanced Editor

The Site Calls To Action tool contains an "Advanced Editor" which will allow you to utilize HTML to customize Calls To Action (see below).

You can also use images that are stored in the File Manager tool of your site to display images in your Calls to Action using the Advanced Editor. If you'd like to display an image from your File Manager, you can use the HTML <img src="/customer/images/nameofimage.jpg" as an example. The file path will need to match exactly for the image to display properly.

If you run into any questions using the Advanced Editor, please reach out to Aldrich Web Solutions for support.
