User Inventory Settings
WebAlliance allows you to determine how inventory is displayed both sitewide and on a user-by-user basis.
Sitewide Settings
The site-wide is called "Use Location Inventory by Default ". You will find this setting in the General section under Products > Inventory. If this is toggled off, the user will see a total of the inventory from all locations that have the item available. If this is toggled on, then they will only see the inventory that's available in their Default Location.
User Settings
To adjust the setting on a user-by-user basis, navigate to the User Detail of the user whose settings you would like to change and select the "Company Info" tab. The setting in question is called "Inventory Display Summary"
- Summarize inventory using all locations- This will allow the User to view inventory from all locations.
- Summarize inventory using only the locations in the user's region- This will show the User inventory only within their region. To learn more about the concept of Regions, please read the Regions Manager article.
- Summarize inventory using only the user's default location- This will only show inventory using the User's default location.
Zero Inventory Settings
Should you select "Summarize inventory using only the user's default location" on the user detail, you will be presented with more options as part of the "If Zero Inventory at User's Default Location Then Show..." setting.
This setting determines what a user sees when their default location currently has no stock of a particular item. This will override any site-wide settings of the same type.
- Summary of inventory in all locations- This setting allows users to see a summary of inventory available at other locations only if their default location does not currently have any of the item in question.
- Summary of inventory in user's region- This setting allows users to see a summary of inventory available at other locations in their region only if their default location does not currently have any of the item in question. To learn more about the concept of Regions, please read the Regions Manager article.
- Out of Stock message- This will show the user a boilerplate Out of Stock message as determined by the Inventory Display Configurator.
