WAChat Notifications

WAChat Express can provide in-browser notifications to the Admin and to the user in a chat conversation. Browser notifications must be enabled for this to work, but each browser's steps to allow notifications are slightly different.

Generally, these notifications appear when the WAChat window is not currently selected.

Notifications to the user

The user can see the first name and last initial of the Admin who accepted the chat, as well as a notification in the browser tab when there's a new message in their chat.

Notifications to the Admin

The Admin can see the full name of the user who requested the chat, and any message that user includes.

Enabling notifications in Google Chrome

The browser should show a prompt with a message like this:

When the user clicks "Allow", the browser will remember that it is allowed to display notifications on the given website.

If you need to change that setting later, simply click the left side of the address bar to edit settings for that particular website. The prompt will look something like this:

You can also select "Site Settings" from the drop-down menu pictured above to see a full list of settings and verify notifications are enabled for the WebAlliance chat site.
