Sponsored Search Results - Banner
The "Banner" Sponsored Search Type allows you to add a banner image to your Sponsored Search Results page, instead of a list of sponsored items. You can use this image to direct users to a content page, a category page, or even a page located on a different website.
Click "New Banner" to configure a banner image to appear at the top of your Sponsored Search Results page. Adding more than one image here will create a slideshow instead of a just showing a single image.
Configure your banner(s):
- Sponsored search banners will always show at top of the search results page. This setting cannot be changed for the "Banner" Sponsored Search Type.
- Select the primary image to show for the banner. You will have the option to select from the files you have already uploaded or to upload a new one.
- Optionally, you can select a mobile version of the image as well. By default, the primary image will show at all screen sizes. However, if the primary image is difficult to read on small screens, you can select a mobile-optimized image that will be shown when the page is viewed on a mobile device.
- Select or enter the link destination from the banner image. You can select from pages that exist on the website, or manually enter a URL. Make sure to use good linking practices, including starting the URL with "https://" if the page is not on your WebAlliance website.
- Enter a title for the image.
- Enter the alternate text that will be shown if the image isn't able to load on the user's end.
- For multiple images, set the order that you want each image to appear in the slideshow.
- Select whether the linked page will be opened in a new browser tab, or loaded on the current one.
Using an image creation\editing tool like Canva to create your banner images will help you make great-looking, appropriately sized images quickly and easily. It will be particularly useful to help keep the quality and size of banner images consistent if you are adding more than one.
Once you have set up the Sponsored Search, the Banner will appear on the assigned search results page.
