Can you explain Internal Page Content Search Ranking?
When a user performs a search on the site, you have the option to allow the system to search the text of your content pages as well. Results of the content search will appear at the bottom of the search results page. There are several important factors that help determine how page content search results are ranked
How page content search results are ranked
Page content searches look through various pieces of data from the content pages you have created using the Page Builder.
The search engine utilizes the data you enter when creating a content page to assist in ranking pages when customers search.
The WebAlliance system ranks pages based on the following rank factors:
- Page Text: Factor of 1
- Page Name: Factor of 2
- Page Title: Factor of 3
- Meta Description: Factor of 1
A rank factor is a nonspecific measurement that indicates how important a particular field is to the ranking of a page.
For instance, a page where the title contains the keywords a customer entered will rank higher than a page with the keywords just in the text.
Be sure to visit the Searching for Products page in the WebAlliance Site Usage section to see this search function in action.
