Inventory Display with Quantity

You can choose whether to show the quantity of stock available or not for your items.  Below are some examples of how you can leverage the quantity.

Global Inventory with Quantity

You can display the total inventory quantity available at all locations (company-wide, or "global" inventory).  In the above example, 10 EA are available at Benton and 9 EA are available at Marion.  The user will see the total from all locations, which is 19 EA in this case.  This can be set as a sitewide default so that all users see the total inventory from all locations or set on a user-by-user basis from the "Company Info" tab on the User Details screen.

Location Inventory with Quantity

You can display the inventory available at only the user's Default Location.  In the example above, the user's Default Location is Marion, so they will see "19 IN STOCK" even though more inventory is available at other locations.  This can be set as a sitewide default so that all users see only the inventory for their Default Location or set on a user-by-user basis from the "Company Info" tab on the User Details screen.

Inventory Display with Maximum Quantity

In your WebAlliance Site Settings, you can configure a maximum displayed inventory quantity.  In the example above, the maximum quantity is set 20, so even though there are 32 EA available, WebAlliance will show "20+ In Stock" to the user.  If you have enabled the real-time inventory link for your website, this maximum quantity will also be honored with the quantities displayed there.

You can set the maximum quantity from the Site Settings in the Admin panel.  Find the "Max Qty To Show" setting in the General section under Products > Inventory.

WebAlliance offers a useful tool that allows you to artificially adjust the website's inventory quantity for a particular item.  See Including Non-ERP Inventory Counts on the Web for more details.

Inventory Display without Quantity

You can add or remove the display of the inventory quantity for a particular Inventory Scenario from the Inventory Display Configurator.

You can choose not to display the quantity at all if you prefer to show only "In Stock" and "Not in Stock" text. Whether the item displays "In Stock" or "Not in Stock" will still be determined by whether your website is configured to show only inventory for the user's Default Location or company-wide inventory.

Of course, you can also adjust the displayed text to fit your needs.  For instance, you could display "Temporarily Out of Stock" instead of "Not in Stock".
