Product Restrictions - Prepare your Items for Product Restrictions

 

Product Restrictions are based on the concept of "tagging" your items. Those tags are prepared in your ERP system or in the PIM-Enterprise, and they must be set up in order to build product restrictions.

Designate an ERP Custom Field (Field1 - Field5) or a PIM-E field as the home for item "tags"

In the PIM-Enterprise, you can choose to use the "Tags" field directly or any of Field1 - Field5.


Enter the tag values for each item. The actual values must be alphanumeric (NO special characters and NO spaces) and they should be something that you'll recognize when setting up your Product Restrictions on the website.


To enter more than one tag for an item when using an ERP Custom Field, separate the tags with a semicolon (no spaces).  For example, tag1;tag2;tag3.  The system will understand that you've entered three tags for the item, and the item will be included in all three Item Groups.

TIP: A single item can only have a single "exclusion" or "territory restriction" tag. Multiple exclusions for the same item with different tags won't work.

Inform Aldrich Web Solutions of the field you'll use to designate tags

Aldrich Web Solutions will need to update some of your site configuration settings in order to utilize the tagged fields.

 NOTE: Once configured, your item tag data will update every 4 hours.
