Lot Inventory Display
If you have certain items on the website that are inventoried in lots, WebAlliance can utilize that information to provide a more accurate inventory display for the user.
Lot Inventory Display
For instance, if you are selling hose on your website by the foot, but you inventory the hose in lots of 200 feet, WebAlliance can show users how many lots are available instead of how many feet.

In the example above, there are a total of 361 total feet available over 4 lots. Without Lot Inventory enabled, the website will show 341 feet available. With Lot Inventory enabled, the website will show 4 lots available.

Users can then click on the inventory link to see a break-down of how much inventory is available in each lot.
Shopping Cart
Lot items are handled differently in the shopping cart when Lot Inventory is enabled:
- If a user adds a lot item to the cart, and then adds the same item to the cart again, they will appear as separate line items instead of merging quantities. Using hose as an example again, this allows the user to buy a 50 foot length of hose and a separate 100 foot length of hose. The different line items represent two different continuous lengths of hose they would like to purchase.
- The Shopping Cart Disclaimer that lets users know that "part of their order might not be available for immediate shipment or pickup" will display based on whether the user orders more than is available in the largest lot. For instance, if a particular item has 361 feet available but the largest lot is 200 feet, the user will see the Shopping Cart Disclaimer if they add the item to the cart with a quantity of 250 feet. However, they will not see it if they add a line for 200 feet and a separate line for 50 feet.
Lot Inventory Settings
You can enable Lot Inventory and configure how it works within the site settings under ERP Integrations > Invoice Service.
- Allows you to toggle Lot Inventory on and off.
- By default, when lots are enabled, all applicable items will display inventory using the lot method. However you can either whitelist or blacklist items if you want more control over which items will display lots. In that case, select an ERP Class ID field (where available) or a WebAlliance user defined fields to tag the items you want to blacklist or whitelist.
- Enter the value that will whitelist an item if it is found in the specified override field for an item.
- Enter the value that will blacklist an item if it is found in the specified override field for an item.
- Adjust the inventory text that displays when an item has lots. You can use the [QTY] variable to show the quantity of lots available.
The Lot Inventory display will only be used if an item has more than one lot. If an item has only one lot, the site will show the regular inventory display for that item.
