E-Commerce pages are typically the pages of the site that are generated by the system.  They create page content programmatically and place the content in the site theme.  Examples of E-Commerce pages are My Account pages, Search Results, Category Browsing, Login page, Create Account Details, etc.

This feature allows SuperAdmins to edit the content area above and below the programmatically generated page content.

Note that this function is only available on E-Commerce pages.  Marketing pages can already be edited via the Content Builder and this functionality is not used on those pages.

The Enable Edit Header/Footer button will be located in the top-right corner of E-Commerce pages.

You have all of the tools available to create content for headers and footers as you do with content pages.  See the manual on Creating and Managing WebAlliance Content Pages to see how all of the content creation tools work.

1. Click the Disable Edit Header/Footer button when you are finished editing content.  This will place the page back in "view" mode and allow you to see the new content on the page.
2. The list of snippets available for header and footer content is very similar to the list available in the Content Builder.  Several snippets wouldn't be applicable to header and footer content, such as the Forms and Item List snippets.

Please be aware that for some page types (such as Search Results, Item Details, and Category Browsing), the Header/Footer content applies to all the pages of that type.  

For example: if you use Edit Header/Footer on an Item Detail page, the header/footer content you apply will appear on every Item Detail page.  

The same would be true if you use Edit Header/Footer on a search or category page. The content you apply will appear on every search and category result. If you'd like to add content for a specific category or search result, use the Category Headers tool or the Search Result Content option.

Below, find a list of pages that are eligible for the "Enable Edit Header/Footer" tool. This list does not contain every potentially enhanced page but does contain many commonly enhanced WebAlliance pages.
