SKU

As an E-Commerce page, SKU listings reflect data pulled from your ERP system, the Attribute Manager, and the PIM-Enterprise.

SKU Layout

SKU Listing refers to an item listing that appears in Search Results, Category Listings, and Favorites. It contains several elements:

  1. This image is attached to the item using one of the possible techniques. See our article E-Commerce Item Image Management for details.
  2. The item information seen here comes directly from fields in your ERP system. You can choose from several fields here.
  3. "More Info" appears on a SKU listing when the associated item has available Specs from Attribute Manager or the PIM-Enterprise. If no Specs exist, "More Info" does not show up.
  4. Inventory display can be configured in several ways. The inventory display shown on the SKU or SKU Detail listing is a cached value, updated every 4 hours. You can choose to make this listing a link, which displays real-time inventory in a pop-up box.
  5. The "Add to Cart" section of the SKU listing contains a few elements itself. The universal rule is that if an item displays a price, it can be added to the cart. If no price is available, the "Add to Cart" button will be subdued, and a line of text will be displayed. See "Notes on Item Pricing" for more information.
  6. A user can click "Add to Favorites" on a SKU listing to add that item to their list of "Favorites", found at /Products/Favorites. This list is different for every web user, but Favorites categories can be shared between all users attached to a given Customer ID.
  7. A user can click the arrows on the right side of the "Favorite Item" button for a couple of additional options. They can choose to add the item to a Wish List or create a new one. They can also choose to add to an existing Order Template or create a new one.
  8. See below for more information about the Product Comparison tool.

A "Previous Purchase" badge appears when an item has been purchased by the Customer ID attached to the current user's account. This flag can also be used as a search influencer in the website's Search Preferences menu.

Product Comparisons

Selecting Items to Compare

A user can select up to 4 items at once to view in a side-by-side comparison screen. Simply check the "Compare" box in each SKU listing. A box will appear at the bottom of the screen, showing the user their selected comparison items. When the desired items appear in that box, click "Compare" to view the items side-by-side.

Viewing the Comparison

On the product comparison screen, all the expected SKU listing information is available, along with each item's Specs. The user can Add to Cart, following the same pricing rules described above. Click the X at the top-right of each item to remove it from the comparison.
