Filterable Facets
You can provide users the ability to filter by attribute (facet) values in the left navigation. This is particularly useful when you have large numbers of values for your attributes. This feature is only available if you have the WebAlliance PIM product.
Create a filter box for users to get more quickly to the specific values they are interested in. This filter is a "starts with" filter versus a "contains" filter. This means in the example above, values that start with "1/4" will be listed, but a value such as "1 1/4" will not be listed.
You can enable this feature from Site Manager>Settings in the Admin panel. Go to the Products tab, and then the Display subtab.
- Enable Filterable Facets: This setting allows you to turn on this feature. By default, filters that have 10 or more values to choose from will provide a filter box for users.
- Minimum Facets Before Display Filter: This setting allows you to adjust the number of values there must be to choose from before the filter box displays.
By default, all facets that meet the "Minimum Facets Before Display Filter" criteria will show the filter box. NOTE: There are recurring fees involved with having only select facets that meet the criteria show the filter box.
