Adding Content to Search Results
In some cases, you may want to embellish information on a certain Search Result page, in the same way you can embellish Category listings or Brand/Supplier pages. WebAlliance makes it easy to add content to those Search Result listings.
This option is disabled by default in WebAlliance. If you'd like to implement the ability to add content to Search Results, please contact Aldrich Web Solutions
First, find the page
The first step in embellishing Search Results is, of course, to find the Search Results page you'd like to embellish. A Search Results page will have a unique URL, based on what you searched for. For a user to see your search content, they will have to match your search exactly.
For this example, we'll add some extra information to a search for a specialty tool called "30 degree engraving tool". Simply run a search for "30 degree engraving tool" on your website:
Enter "Edit Mode"
From the Search Result page, click "Edit This Page" in the upper right-hand corner.
SuperAdmin accounts and Admin accounts with "Content" privileges can access "Edit Mode" for any editable page.
Edit the page
At this point, you'll have access to all the page editing tools you've seen in other places. Like with other new pages, you'll see some pre-loaded template content for inspiration. Feel free to replace the content with your own, or simply delete the snippets and start fresh.
Note: in the Search Content version of the editor, certain snippets don't apply. For example, Form Builder snippets and Site Navigation drag-and-drop snippets don't have any real use on these pages so they aren't available here.
Edit the Meta Information

Be sure to add your new page's Meta Information, including Page Title and Page Headline. Meta Description is optional, but it is very helpful to users who find your search listing from an external search provider, like Google.
Add "Category List" to the "Current Sections" area to display tiles representing the categories which contain results for the current search.
Tip: A good Page Title value will help you locate your page in the Page Builder.
Save and Publish your changes

Click "Save" then "Publish to Site" to save your changes and make them available to users, or click "Save & Continue Editing" to simply save your changes but not make them public-facing.
Check out the "Save vs Save & Publish" article for more detailed information.
The Result
Now that you've added this content, any user who searches for "30 degree engraving tool" will find it. This content will help external search engines read and index the keywords on the page, and it provides your users some extra, very useful information about the items they've searched for.
