Item Variations on SKU Listings
As part of the Item Variations Optional module, WebAlliance can display Variation Groups on your website's search results and category listings.
Item Variation Group display is an optional module that requires custom configuration of your item listings. For more information contact Aldrich Web Solutions.
For instructions on configuring an Item Variation Group, refer to the Attribute Manager manual or the PIM-Enterprise Variation Groups manual.
This does not involve the ERP User Defined Field called "ItemFamily".
SKU with Item Variations
When a user conducts a search, or views a category, and the returned results contain items covering more than one Item Variation Group, then the Variation Groups will appear in line with those search results or category listings.
If you are using the alternate Variation Group display mentioned in the Item Variations on SKU Detail article, the additional items will not be displayed in line as shown below. The button will simply take you to the alternate view.
Click the checkbox to the left of each item to enable the "Compare" feature.
Because Item Variation Group entries must be created from a shared category, Attribute Manager and the PIM-Enterprise allow you to select up to 4 attributes to display as part of the Item Variation Group listing on the SKU listing. Your users can purchase directly from this listing, or click an item number in the variation group to visit the SKU Detail of that item.
After a user selects a filter from a category listing, Item Variation Groups won't be shown. Only the items to which the filter applies will be displayed.
If a search result returns items covering only a single Item Variation Group, only the items will be shown - not the variation group.
