Wish Lists

Wish Lists allow your users a simple method to save lists of items that they might want to purchase later, which are then available to them from a link on their My Account page at any time.  These lists can be edited and turned into orders with the click of a button.

Adding Items to the Wish List

  1. You can easily add items to Wish Lists and even create new Wish Lists by clicking the arrows on the right-hand side of the "Add to Favorites" button of the item you're interested in.
  2. Add the item to a particular list by selecting the name of the list you'd like to add it to.  If you add the item to an existing list, you will have the option to go straight to the list (to edit it) or continue shopping.
  3. To start a new list click "Create Wish List" from an item you want to include in the list.

TIP: Add any item to a Wish List from Invoice Details, Order Details, or Quote Details by hovering the mouse over the Item ID and selecting an existing Wish List or creating a new one.

Managing your Wish Lists

Wish Lists are available only to the user who created the wish list.

Clicking on the "Wish Lists" link on the My Account page will take you to a list of the Wish Lists you have created.

  1. Clicking the name of the Wish List or clicking the "View" button will take you to the items in that list, where you can adjust quantities, remove items, or add the items to your cart.
  2. Click "Rename" to change the name of a list.
  3. Click "Delete" to delete the list entirely.
  4. Clicking the "Add Wish List" button will create a new blank list that you can immediately begin adding items to.

Viewing or Editing a Wish List

Clicking "View" on a Wish List will display the items contained in it.

  1. Clicking "Add Note" will let you enter text that will be sent to the cart as a line note for the item.  Make sure to click the "Save Changes" button to save any notes you add.
  2. You can also adjust the quantities of the items in the list.  Click "Save Changes" to save your quantity adjustments.  Note:  You will not be able to add the list to your shopping cart if any of the quantities are set to 0.
  3. Clicking the red delete icon to the right of an item will remove it from the Wish List.
  4. "Delete Wish List" will delete the entire list of items.  If you have selected any of the checkboxes to the left of the items, you will have the option to "Delete Selected Items" instead.
  5. A "Save Changes" button will appear if you add line notes or adjust quantities.  If you make changes and don't click this button, the changes will not be saved to the list.
  6. Rather than purchasing the items on the Wish List, the user can submit the list to you as a Request for Quote if your website uses the Quote Cart Module (see below for more information).
  7. "Add to Cart" will add the entire Wish List with the quantities selected, and any notes you might have added, to your current shopping cart.  If you have selected any of the checkboxes to the left of the items, you will instead have the option to "Add Selected to Cart".

Note:  As shown above, you can have more than one of the same item in the Wish List.  If you add a Wish List with duplicate items to an empty cart, it will add them as two separate items.  If you add the Wish List to an existing cart that already contains the same item, it will just add the additional quantities to the item in the cart.  It will not add a duplicate item.

Add Item or Add Non-Stock Item from Wish List

  1. "Add Item" lets you search for a part number that's available on the site to add to your Wish List.
  2. "Add Non-Stock Item" will allow you to add an item to your Wish List that isn't available on the website.  Just enter a part number, a quantity, and a description of the item.  Non-Stock items added to a Wish List will not be priced, and can't be added to the cart.  The purpose of adding a Non-Stock item to a Wish List is to allow you to request a quote for items that aren't found on the website if your website includes the Quote Cart Module.

Renaming a Wish List

Click "Rename" next to the name of a Wish List.  Enter a new name and click the "Rename" button to save the change.

Viewing Item Details from a Wish List

Click on a part number to view that item's SKU Detail listing.

Using a Wish List to Request a Quote for Unpriced Items

If your site uses the Quote Cart Module, users can utilize Wish Lists to add several items to their Quote Cart request.
