Creating a Blog Post
Adding a New Blog Post
Create new blog posts in the Blog Editor, and use the same easy drag-and-drop tools to build blog posts as you can use for building content pages. Since blog posts are a special type of content, there are a few things to keep in mind regarding a blog post's configuration and display.

Get started by clicking "New Blog" in the Blog Editor tool.
- Enter the name of the page here. This will become a part of the URL of the blog post. Lowercase is generally better for URLs, so it's suggested to leave the "Use Lowercase" box checked.
- Set the "Page Title". The text in this field will be displayed in the browser tab when viewing the blog post. This text will also appear as the title of the blog on the blog landing page, found at www.yourDomain.com/blog.
- Use "Page Headline" to set the text used as the heading at the top of the blog page itself.
- Enter a list of blog tags you want to be applied to this blog post. Separate tags with a comma. Blog viewers will have access to a list of these tags that they can use as a quick link to the tagged blog posts. Of course, you can edit these later, even after the blog post is published.
- Set the "Added Date" for this blog post. The "Added Date" is also used to sort the list of blog posts from newest to oldest on the blog landing page.
- Set the page layout template for the blog post.
- Determine whether users must be logged in to view this blog post.
- Check "Continue to Edit Content" to proceed to the Blog Editor after you click "Add Page".
- Click "Add Page" to create your new blog post.
Differences Between a Blog Post and a Content Page
There are blog-specific pieces in the blog post template that will give it a different feel from a standard new content page.
- The tags you assigned to this post will be displayed under the page headline. Users can click these tags to view other blog posts with the selected tag. You can edit these tags by clicking Meta Info in the menu bar at the top of the Blog Editor.
- Under the tags will be links for your users to share this post through social media, email a link to someone, or subscribe to your blog's RSS feed.
- In the right column of all blog posts, users will see a list of tags from all blog posts. Each tag is a link to a list of blog posts that are assigned that tag. (Note that in "Edit" mode, no tags appear here.)
- Below the tag list, you'll see a list of other available blog posts, grouped by year and month. This list will also be blank in "Edit" mode, but the list will appear in "View" mode.
Adding Content to Your Blog Post
You have all of the Content Builder tools (as well as the Code Editor) at your disposal to build exactly the blog post you want. Check out the entire "Using the Content Builder" manual for detailed information.
Editing Meta Info
You can edit the details you entered when you created the blog post by clicking the "Meta Info" button when you're editing the page.
Note that "tags" are set via the Page Keywords tool.

- Edit the text that will show in the user's browser tab, and as the title of the post on the blog landing page at www.yourDomain.com/blog.
- Edit the text that will appear as the headline at the top of the blog post.
- Edit the meta description for the post.
- Revert to a previously published version of your blog post.
- Change the "Added Date" of the blog post.
Featured Image
The Featured Image tool allows you to select an image to display for your blog post on the blog landing page.

While you are editing the post, click the "Meta Info" button and find the "Featured Image" section. Simply click the box and select an image, or drag an image onto the box. Once an image has been uploaded, you can remove it by clicking the "Remove" button or replace it by selecting a new image.
The Featured Image is intended to be a thumbnail-sized image and will only accept images up to 1MB in size.
Once you publish the blog post, the image will appear on the blog landing page above the blog title.
Tip: Remember to use web-optimized images here so that your blog landing page still loads quickly.
