Using the Slideshow Snippet

Make use of the slideshow snippet if you'd like to display a rotating slideshow of images on an internal content page. Use it for things like Customer Appreciation Days, Open House, Featured Items, whatever you like!

Inside the content builder, use the drop-down list to select either "Default", "Single Image", or "WebAlliance Snippets"

Drag-and-drop the "Slideshow" snippet to the desired place on your page.

Take the snippet into "Edit" mode

Set up your Slideshow

After you click "Edit", you'll see the placeholder image expand, adding another image below it. Click "+Add Slide" at the bottom to add another placeholder. The slideshow can contain as many images as you'd like but be sure to web-optimize your images for file size so that your page loads quickly.

  1. Click the "Caption" button to add a caption (if there isn't one) or to remove the image caption (if there is one).
  2. If the caption is already there, simply edit the text.
  3. Click the "X" button to remove that slide from the slideshow.
  4. "Preview" lets you see the slideshow while still inside the Content Builder, rather than going back to View mode.
  5. "Add Slide" adds an additional slide to the slideshow.
  6. "Settings" lets you alter the settings for the slideshow specifically. See below for a more detailed explanation.

Slideshow Settings

  1. Choose whether the slideshow will autoplay. If unselected, the user must manually move the slideshow along.
  2. Choose the slide duration. In this example, each slide will display for 4 seconds before moving on to the next slide.
  3. Will you show dots (which allow the user to skip forward to a particular slide)?
  4. How many slides show at any given time? The default is 1.
  5. How many slides scroll at a time? The default is 1.
  6. Be sure to click "Save Changes" when you're finished editing.

Dealing with the images

Slideshow images behave in the same way as standalone images. Use this manual, "Dealing with Images in the Content Builder" for tips on how to apply your images to the page.

Remember, when adding images to your content pages, be sure to use web-optimized images, so the file size is small enough to load in a timely manner.
