Configuring ERP Customer ID as a Google Analytics Custom Dimension

 

WebAlliance provides Google Analytics with lots of useful information, but the user information sent is (for the most part) anonymous. However, using the Custom Dimension feature in Google Analytics, you can track data and create reports that include the ERP Customer ID of the browsing user.

Navigate to the Admin menu of Google Analytics. Expand the Custom Definitions panel, and select the Custom Definitions option.

Select New Custom Dimension.

Name the Custom Dimension "ERP Customer ID" and ensure that the Scope is set to "User". Check the box marked "Active". Since WebAlliance is already sending the data, there are no more steps required.
