How do I enable ship-pricing for UPS parcel?
Provided your items have reliable Item Weights, you can show UPS calculated shipping estimates during the checkout process. This article covers configuring your website to work with UPS shipping estimates. If you use FedEx instead, you can use estimates from the FedEx Web Services program. Contact Aldrich Web Solutions for information about that.
As a note, if you allow Credit Card payments through the website, it is strongly recommended that you also show Shipping Estimates. If your online items don't have accurate weight data, other options (like flat-rate shipping and tiered shipping based on order subtotal) are available. If you do not show a shipping estimate at checkout, the user's credit card authorization will not include shipping, and you'll have a hard time charging for shipping without re-authorizing the card. Aldrich Web Solutions cannot support transaction problems at that point.
Aldrich Web Solutions provides these manuals as a general help resource. For the most complete and up-to-date information about this topic, visit the UPS support documentation.
Provide Aldrich Web Solutions with your UPS Information
We will configure your website using the UPS username, and password for each location, as well as your ERP Location ID for each location. When this configuration is in place and working in WebAlliance, your users will see an estimated shipping cost in their shopping cart and during checkout.
Please note: If you choose to show FedEx shipping estimates on your website, be mindful that this precludes you from the ability to show shipping estimates from any other shipping company.
