Set up a Custom Filter to Exclude SiteScan Monitor Traffic

Using the Filters tool, you can set up a custom filter to exclude SiteScan monitor traffic following the steps below:

  1. Set the Filter Type to Custom and Exclude "Request URI".
  2. Enter the filter pattern exactly as:  ^\Q/?monitor=true\E$
  3. At the bottom, click "Verify Filter" to make sure the filter will have an effect on your data.

When complete, your filter should mirror the example shown above.

NOTE: Sometimes, Google Analytics won't cooperate with the "Verify Filter" button. If that's the case, click "Save" on the filter then check your "Real Time" overview. Any references to "...monitor=true" will start to go away minutes after this filter is saved.
