Supplier Information
WebAlliance can access several pieces of data from your ERP system and the PIM-Enterprise in order to give your users the best information about each item's supplier. All 3 fields mentioned below can be analyzed using the Item Explorer tool in the Admin section of your WebAlliance site.
Primary Supplier
WebAlliance looks for the Primary Supplier for each item. Secondary and alternate suppliers generally will not be visible on the website.
You can use the Supplier Name Override tool to override the web-displayed name of a given Supplier ID. This overrides the displayed name of a Supplier ID on the website, for all items with that Primary Supplier ID.
This value is used in creating a Brand filter on search results and in building your website's Brand/Supplier Header pages.
This field can be made searchable by using the Search Preferences tool in the Admin section.
NOTE - Primary Supplier is a concept supported by some ERP systems but not all. For details about the availability of Primary Supplier from your ERP, please contact Aldrich Web Solutions.
BrandName
This is a user defined field that should be configured in your ERP system. Make the name exactly BrandName.
BrandName is a text field that lets you enter any desired Brand for an item. Use this field if you'd prefer to show 'Kleenex' for an item rather than 'Kimberly-Clark', for example.
BrandName values can be made searchable by using the Search Preferences tool in the Admin section.
BrandOrSupplierName
This is a field that is generated by the website, based on the BrandName field and the Primary Supplier. It's a hierarchical field, meaning it looks for the BrandName value first. If that's blank, it will use the Primary Supplier value, if available. If an item has neither of those, its BrandOrSupplierName value will be blank.
This field can be made searchable using the Search Preferences tool in the Admin section. However, if you enable searches on this field along with Primary Supplier and BrandName, your search results will become less accurate, since the search engine will be analyzing the same fields twice.
Automatically Generated Pages that List Items based on Supplier Information
WebAlliance automatically creates E-Commerce pages that list collections of items based on the assigned Supplier Information.

You can edit the headers for these pages by going your site's Brand/Supplier Header tool.
