How does WebAlliance send email?
WebAlliance sends many transactional email messages, for things like password reset requests, cart receipts, and user account signup requests. You can choose from 2 different methods to send those messages.
Aldrich Web Solutions Mail Server
By default, WebAlliance will use the Aldrich Web Solutions mail server to deliver these messages.
Pros of using the Aldrich Web Solutions Mail Server
- No additional charge - This service is included as part of WebAlliance.
- Direct integration with the WebAlliance system
Cons of using the Aldrich Web Solutions Mail Server
- Not much visibility of email status
- You can tell when the email has been sent, but not when it's been received or opened.
- Your website's email service can deal with the website's transactional emails, but your marketing emails will need to go through a different service.
Mailgun Email Service
Mailgun is a third-party email service that's available as an optional integration to WebAlliance.
Mailgun is not affiliated with Aldrich Web Solutions.

- Highly available
- Mailgun is a specialized email service that deals only with email.
- Enhanced visibility of email status
- Through Mailgun, you can view message delivery status and date.
- Mailgun offers an optional tracking pixel so you can see when your emails are opened.
- Can work with marketing services
- If you'd like to use the same email service for your transactional WebAlliance emails and your external marketing emails, Mailgun is the way to go.
Cons of using the Mailgun Email Service
- Mailgun is a for-pay service
- They offer various pricing plans. Over a certain number of emails, you'll pay Mailgun per-message.
