1) Attributes
Add, edit or delete attributes from this tab.
Attributes Tab
- Is this attribute a filter, specification, both a filter and a specification, or a hidden attribute?
- Is the default visibility of this attribute on your website going to be expanded or collapsed?
- Enter the name of the new attribute and click "Add", or enter the edited name for the selected attribute and click "Save".
- Opens a dialog box to enter multiple attributes at once. Enter one attribute name per line.
Right-click an attribute to edit or delete it.
"Add Multiple" allows you to set the attribute as a filter, specification, or both. "Hidden" isn't an option here.
3 attributes are automatically created by the WebAlliance system, and should not be created in Attribute Manager:
- Weight - Displays as a spec (not a filter) on each item that has a valid Item Weight value defined from your ERP system. If an item has no assigned weight in the ERP system, the spec does not appear.
- Brand - Displays as a filter (on the left side of the search and category pages). The value is equivalent to the value of "BrandOrSupplierName" that is described in the Supplier Information article. This filter can be turned off in the system if you don't want it to appear.
- Family - This is an internally-used term in Attribute Manager. If you create an Attribute named "Family", you'll experience an error in the category.
Information Tab
- Select your Category Image from a file, or drag and drop it into this field. This image will display for the selected category on your website.
- This feature is no longer in use. To create descriptions for the category, use the "Category Headers" section of the WebAlliance Admin panel.
If you add a category image then later want to get rid of that image, it's best to replace it with another image. If you simply remove it, the original image might not disappear from the website. If this happens, contact Aldrich Web Solutions for assistance.
Be sure to click "Save Category Info" when you're finished with this tab.
