How do I remove items from a category?

 

You can remove items from a category either directly in Attribute Manager or by updating and importing Excel sheets.

Process 1 - Remove Items via Import

Select "Edit Items & Item Properties" for the Desired Category

This is the method to use if you want to remove multiple items from the category.

At the bottom of the page, select "Export to Excel". The system will generate a spreadsheet with the items from the selected category.

Open the Spreadsheet and Delete the Necessary Items

In this case, we'll remove items 1960 and 1962. Delete the appropriate rows and then save the document.

In Attribute Manager, Select "Add or Import Items", then click "Import Items and Properties"

  1. Select the spreadsheet file. In this case, it is called Air Filters_export.xls since it lists items for the Air Filters category.
  2. Select the ERP Part Number field in the spreadsheet.
  3. Map the property fields.
  4. When removing items, you must check "Remove Items before Import".  This clears the list in Attribute Manager and re-adds only the items left on the spreadsheet.
  5. "Do Import" executes the action.

Process 2 - Remove Individual Items from a Category

Select Edit "Items & Item Properties" for the Desired Category

Right-click the item you want to remove in any of the attribute columns.  Then select "Remove from Category".

Note - You'll need to right-click in an "attribute" column instead of on the Item Code or Description column of the row. Attribute columns provide more options.
