How do I add or edit attributes in a category?
Add attributes one at a time or in multiples.
Adding an Attribute
Choose an attribute type of "Filter", "Specification", "Both", or "Hidden". A filter will narrow down searches on your site. A specification gives the user more information about a specific product on its Item Details page.
In the WebAlliance "Category Content" tool, you can use a "Hidden" attribute to set a "Default Sort" order for the category.
Choose Expanded or Collapsed for the attribute's default visibility state on the website.
Enter the desired name, and click "Add".
This attribute will apply to the selected category and all its subcategories.
You can also edit an existing attribute by right-clicking it and choosing "Edit". When you're done editing each category, click "Save".
Adding Multiple Attributes

You can also add multiple attributes with the same type and visibility at one time. Add one attribute name per line, select the type and visibility and click "Add". They will apply to the selected category and all subcategories.
When adding multiple attributes, you can choose between "Filter", "Specification", or "Both".
Attribute Naming Conventions
Attribute names should contain ONLY letters, numbers, and spaces. Attributes named with special characters will not display correctly.
- EXCEPTION: To sort the order of your attributes, name them like this: A.) Color B.) Size C.) Model D.) Type in order to display them like this: Color Size Model Type. By default, attributes will sort alpha-numerically on your website. For more information, click this link.

Reserved Attribute Names
There are several terms that are used internally within Attribute Manager, and you will experience an error if you use them as an attribute name.
For instance, if you name an attribute "Family", Attribute Manager will display an error reading "A column named 'Family' already belongs to this DataTable." when you attempt to view the related Category.
Please do not name an attribute with any of the following terms:
- Family
- Category
- Description
- Featured
