Migrating Fields in the PIM

 

The PIM's "Migrate Field Data" tool allows you to move all data from one field to another quickly and easily.

Make sure to save any changes to items you have made before you start the migration. 

Select "Migrate Field Data" from the "Edit" drop down bar in the top left corner.

Migration

There are three options for migrating data from one field to another:

  • "All items" - This will migrate all data in one field to another for all available items in the PIM regardless of which category they are in.
  • "Items in Selected Category" -  This will migrate all data in one field to another, but only for items that are in the currently selected category.
  • "Selected Items" - This will migrate all data in one field to another, but only for items that are currently selected

"Source Property" - should be set to the field you want to copy from.  

"Destination Property" - should be set to the field you want to copy to.

"Remove Source Property Values"

  • if checked, will delete the values from the source after the migration completes.
  • If unchecked, will copy the values to the destination while also leaving them in the source.

After selecting to process the migration, you will be prompted to confirm the changes. 

Make sure to review the changes before you confirm them.  The migration cannot be undone once it is confirmed.
